Selling Guide
How to Sell Pallets in Australia
Grade your pallets correctly, find the right buyers, and get the best price for surplus timber and plastic pallets.
Step 1 — Grade Your Pallets
Buyers assess pallets by grade. Accurate grading builds trust and helps you negotiate a fair price.
Step 2 — Who Buys Pallets
Pallet recyclers/traders
Best for: high volumesBulk volumes, fast turnaround. Grade A/B commands best prices. Most will collect 50+ pallets for free.
Online marketplaces
Best for: small lots, Grade APallet Hubs, Facebook Marketplace, Gumtree. Reach buyers directly, potentially better margins on smaller lots.
Pallet manufacturers
Best for: damaged stockSome buy broken-down timber for reclaimed wood. Less common — contact manufacturers in your area.
Direct to businesses
Best for: ongoing supplyManufacturers, warehouse operators and farmers often buy directly. Lower prices but volume buyers.
Step 3 — Price Your Pallets
Quick reference for what you can realistically expect per pallet at recyclers (2026, major metros):
- Grade A 1165×1165$12–$18 each
- Grade B 1165×1165$6–$12 each
- Grade C 1165×1165$2–$6 each
- Euro pallet (1200×800)$15–$30 each
- Heat-treated export pallets$20–$40 each
Prices vary by volume, location and market conditions. Shop around — recycler prices vary significantly.
Step 4 — List or Negotiate
For volumes under 50, listing on Pallet Hubs or Gumtree often yields better prices than selling direct to recyclers. For 50+, contact 2–3 local recyclers, describe your grades and ask for their per-pallet buy price. For 200+ pallets, recyclers will often collect for free and quote a bulk rate.
