What is a Euro Pallet?
The Euro pallet (also called EUR or EPAL pallet) measures 1200 × 800 mm and is the most widely used pallet format in Europe and internationally. In Australia, Euro pallets appear most frequently in cold chain logistics, imported goods and retail environments — particularly where European or South-East Asian trade lanes are involved.
Euro vs Australian Standard Pallet
The fundamental difference is shape: Australian standard pallets are square (1165 × 1165 mm) while Euro pallets are rectangular (1200 × 800 mm). This means Australian racking, forklifts and dock equipment are primarily designed for the square format. Euro pallets can be used on Australian equipment but typically require orientation consideration and may not fit standard racking as efficiently.
However, Euro pallets are ISPM 15 certified by default from certified EPAL manufacturers, making them ready for international export without additional treatment.
