Do You Need to Comply?
If you manufacture timber pallets for sale or supply in Australia, pallets should meet AS 4068 requirements. Major retailers (Woolworths, Coles, Bunnings) reference this standard in their supplier requirements.
Mandatory if you export goods internationally using timber pallets, crates or dunnage. Failure to comply results in border detention, fumigation at importer's cost or destruction of goods.
